About The Instructor, DAVYD AMES:
Davyd has been playing music for over 17 years. Starting as an orchestral musician (playing French Horn),
Davyd discovered a different way of studying the musical scales. He made numerous marks in the state
of Hawaii as a French Horn player (1st chair in the state-wide select band in 1994 and 1st part, 2nd seat
state-wide in 1993), but his journey was cut short by a baseball accident that left him epileptic. He then
picked up a guitar, and the rest is history. He has many students throughout the island, and they are all
able to recognize the fundamentals of music (chords/scales/key signature) with minimal effort (and ALL of
them had MUCH self- doubt).
